I t is recommended that a small pilot hole is drilled. This can be done with the fairing mounted and drilling through to the mounting point or by,. R emoving the fairing and taking an impression of the existing bolt location by placing Silly Putty on the inside of the fairing and then remounting it loosening the bolt for protrusion may be necessary. Once the fairing is removed the bolt impression is left in the silly putting yielding the center point for the pilot hole.

Next the hole will need to be created. Either drill out using a 2" diameter or slightly smaller fine tooth hole saw centering the drill bit at the pilot hole. The drilling should take place from the outside if stickers are present on the fairing , so that the stickers are not damage by pushing through from the inside.

Or, mark a circular pattern on the fairing using the pilot hole and then slowly grind out with Dremel tool. Or, mark a circular pattern on the fairing using the pilot hole and then use grit sand paper to sand out to the marking.
